The first roll sets that I purchased from the US Mint were the Jefferson nickel Westward Journey roll sets. These Westward Journey mint rolls were great sellers for the US Mint. I can only imagine the amount of collectors that will buy the 2009 Lincoln penny rolls.

I really like these mint roll sets. I have a very difficult time getting uncirculated rolls of coins from my bank. These US Mint roll sets allow me to make sure that I get examples of these special coins.

Will you buy these 2009 Lincoln penny rolls? Did you buy the Jefferson Nickel Westward Journey Mint roll sets?

PCGS graded its first MS-70 2009 UHR Double Eagle. It has only been since January since the United State Mint released the 2009 ultra high relief double eagle. I am happy for the person who submitted the first MS-70 2009 UHRDE.

First MS-70 UHR Double Eagle

Man it would be cool to work for PCGS to get to see all of these coins being submitted. I am not sure that I would have the patience to grade coins all day, but it would be neat to be able to see so many rare coins. From the following quote from the president of PCGS you can still see that they love looking at coins. This is what Don Willis, President of PCGS had to say about the first MS-70 2009 UHR Double Eagle, “We were thrilled to examine the first submitted example of this eagerly anticipated modern masterpiece. It’s one of the finest designs ever created for United States coinage and a testament to the excellence of the United States Mint.”

The question that is in my mind is how many 2009 UHRDE coins were submitted to PCGS before this first MS-70 UHR Double Eagle. I have to think that almost no ultra high relief $20 coins will be below MS-69. I am sure that the Mint is taking special care when minting these collector coins.

While it is cool to see the first MS-70 UHR Double Eagle, I am sure that these will not be rare. However, they will be worth a lot more than the MS-69 versions. If you can buy an MS-70 ultra high relief $20, why wouldn’t you buy that over the MS-69 graded coin. But, they still won’t be scarce.

Have you submitted your UHR Double Eagle gold coin to PCGS or another third party grading service? If so, please tell us about it.

The 14 proof coins in the Legacy Collection are proof versions of the 2008 circulating coins produced by the United States Mint in 2008. Specifically, the American Legacy Collection includes the,

Arizona State Quarter

Alaska State Quarter

Hawaii State Quarter

The United States Mint is no longer selling this Proof coin collection, but you can still buy it on the secondary market. The United States Mint sold this set for $100.

I have searched through ebay’s recent completed sales for the 2008 American Legacy Collection. It seems like they are selling between $120 and $140. Some of the Buy It Now sales were as high as $160.

If you are looking to buy a 2008 mint proof coin set, the 2008 United States Mint American Legacy Collection is a great proof set. I like being able to buy the 2008 Bald Eagle Silver Dollar with the other coins.
